Omg. This restaurant is unequivocally incredible. The chef is true master artist when it comes to the tongue’s palate. Of course most places serve vegetarian sushi these days but here these items are not merely a part of the menu, they encompass as much affection as the ones containing seafood. I’ve wanted to try this chef’s food for years and am delighted that I did not stumble out with the dreadful taste of let down expectations. Most of the produce is grown by the chef, and you can surely taste it. Sampled: the umami miso shishitos, 9.9/10 mild shittake roll, 10/10 creamy, lightly spiced, salty, with good texture Shiso roll, 8/10 unique, earthy, nutty, invigoratingly fresh
What a gem in the middle of a very tiny town in CA! We got a few rolls, amazing quality. Sushi rice is on point. Definitely managed by a Japanese chef.
The food as always, was excellent! We ordered sushi and the shrimp with veggies tempura and split them between two people, which is plenty to fill us up. I love that you always get something different in the veggies tempura, always a surprise depending on what's fresh! The shrimp is always cooked perfectly as well. Gave 4 stars for service only because it was about 10 minutes later than expected through my online order, but it's well worth the wait!
Would 100% recommend ordering from Hatake Farm Kitchen. We decided to go to specifically try the vegan sushi options. Highly recommend the Spicy Veggies Roll and would happily go back to try other vegan / vegetarian rolls. There can be a bit of a wait, so it's good to plan ahead. But worth waiting for.
Very tasty and authentic Japanese food! Order with their QR code and pickup your food to go. They are a kitchen only, no dine in. We ordered 3 onigiri and the chicken bento. The bento was enough of food for the two of us, plenty big! Lots of pickles and side dishes in the box as well. The onigiri are also large, VERY delicious! The rice is the best!!
I am blown away. Most incredible sushi I’ve ever had. The staff is extremely kind. The amount of fish is so generous. Quality superb. I’ve never seen so much fish added to rolls before. This is a must-eat.
Hatake Farms is one of the true gems of Mendocino County. Ryo has worked tirelessly to become an integral part of the farming community, the food community, and the community as a whole. His food is delicious, and his commitment to using the whole animal, the whole vegetable, the whole /food/ in his dishes is unheard of these days. I am beyond grateful to patronize this business, it is such an amazing place. Local produce, local fish, and prices that beat a burger from Five Guys. Damn.
Everything is fresh, seasonal and in top quality! I love their sushis! And they are creative, coming up with new ideas. I feel their love and pride for their food in each bite!
